National Reserve Bank of Angola (BNA) sold 265.7 million Euros to commercial banks over the last seven days.
The information is contained in a BNA press note released Monday.
Angop learnt that the sale represents an increase of 196.5 million Euros compared to the previous period in which the institution sold 69.2 million Euros.
The Central bank sold the Euros at a rate of 186.263 kwanzas to one Euro in the transaction, according to the source.
During the same period, the BNA also released into the market 36.9 billion kwanzas worth of treasury bonds, of which 21.4 billion kwanzas in treasury bills and 15.5 billion kwanzas in securities.
Maturities stood at 2, 3 and 5 years on respective interest rates of 7.0 percent, 7.25 percent and 7.75 percent a year, the source stressed.
