The Mozambican leader, in remarks delivered when he officially opened the 52nd Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Ndola city, Copperbelt Province, said the two countries have great potential in mineral and agriculture as well as other sectors which have not been fully exploited for many years.
This, he said, has forced the majority of citizens to wallow in poverty, according to state broadcaster, the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation.
Nyusi said the two countries should take advantage of the abundant natural resources such as minerals to lift people out of poverty.
Meanwhile, Zambian President Edgar Lungu commended his Mozambican counterpart for agreeing to grace the trade fair.
Lungu said the Mozambican leader has come up with social economic development programs which were benefiting citizens in that country.
The theme for this year’s trade fair is “Enhanced Value Addition for Job Creation”.
