At least 77, 241 tons of various agricultural products were produced in Luanda 2015, according to the head of the technical department of the Provincial Office of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Pascoal de Castro.

Pascoal de Castro said so to ANGOP at the opening of the new agricultural year 2017, held in the locality of Nguimbe, Catete commune, headquarters of Icolo e Bengo Municipality.

He mentioned the sectors of family and business as responsible for the production of vegetables, tubers and legumes.

During the opening ceremony, chaired by the governor of Luanda, Higino Lopes Carneiro, the farmers seized the opportunity to explain their difficulties related to obtaining agricultural credit.

Plight also included lack of working means and the sale of their products.

Accompanied by the administrator of Icolo e Bengo, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, the governor handed over to the peasants, seeds, motor pumps and fertilizers.
