The oil company Chevron has invested USD 87 million in the training of its technicians linked to the area of operations, between 2012 and 2015, said last Friday, in Luanda, the company’s general director, John Baltz.
The official – who was speaking at the ceremony organised for the presentation of the start of the second stage of the “Mafumeira Sul” project, located in Block Zero in the northern Cabinda Province – the group of trainees includes 92 Angolan technicians and 18 engineers.
Having the capacity to produce 150,000 barrels of crude-oil and 350 million cubic metres of natural gas per day, the “Mafumeira Sul” project was secured by about 1,454 Angolan workers.
The project is located 24 kilometres off the coast of the northern Cabinda Province and 60 kilometres deep bellow the sea.
Block Zero is explored by the consortium made up by Sonangol E.P (41%), Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (39.2%), Total (10%) and Eni (9.8%).
