The total delivery of the 100 locomotives to Angola provided for in the contract signed with the American manufacturer General Electric will be made by the end of this year, announced today in Luanda the director of the National Institute of Railways of Angola (INCFA), Júlio Bango.

The manager provided this information to Angop, on the fringes of the inaugural ceremony of the Luanda Railroad Training Center, located in Catete, municipality of Icolo and Bengo.

According to the director of INCFA, the agreement with General Electric provides for the delivery of the locomotives in four phases. To date, the country has already received 27 locomotives, being the first phase. The second delivery of locomotives will be made soon.

On the other hand, about the construction of the northern branch of the Luanda Railroad, he explained that there is a study on this matter, but justified that at that time there is a lack of financial resources for its implementation.
