In the ambit of the process of restructuring the public service, which includes the re-organising of the records on the number and legality of civil servants, the Finance Ministry has suspended the salaries, for the month of April, of about 64.044 public servants countrywide, due to their irregular situation.
This measure happens in view of the fact that many workers have an irregular or illegal situation in the public service, such as incomplete personal documents, unjustified prolonged absence and holding two full time jobs, -which is illegal – among other aspects.
ANGOP has learnt that the human resources department of the public institutions with workers facing those measures have been instructed to take some time to try and regularise as many situations as possible.
The institutions have also been reminded that according to the Angolan law citizens who join the public service as full time workers can only get another simultaneous job if it is a part-time occupation. In case they are found with two full time jobs, they must abdicate one.
