Angolan Trade Minister Jofre Van-Dúnem Júnior stressed in Johannesburg, South Africa, the importance of Angola to have defined the tariff lines it intends to offer to the member states of SADC, in 2019, with a view to its integration into the Free Trade Area (FTA).

According to the minister, who was speaking to the Angolan press, about his participation in the 30th Meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Trade of SADC held Monday in Pretoria, Angola’s offer is already under discussion and should be strengthened, with the participation of experts from the Ministry of Finance and the General Tax Administration (AGT).

“We already have a lot of tariffs that are zeroed in at the moment, that can be offered. All the tariff lines that are at zero, there is no reason not to offer,” he said, emphasizing that some will be protected to safeguard local industries.
