Angolan diamond sector yielded USD 256.5 million during the first quarter of 2018, said on Tuesday the national director of Markets and Trade Promotion of the Mineral and Petroleum Ministry, Gaspar Filipe Sermão.

The official revealed the data to the press during the second “Outlook” meeting, which assessed the diamond trade in 2nd quarter of 2018 and analyzed the perspective of the market in the third quarter.

In the meantime, the national director underlined that the unveiled figures resulted from the trade of at least 12,597 carats sold at medium price of USD130 per carat.

He added that the main destination of the Angolan diamond during the referred period was the Arabic United Emirates, Belgium and Switzerland.
