Angola: Biocom produces half of 2018 sugar

Bioenergy company (Biocom) produced 51.785 tons of sugar during 2018 harvest, predicting until the end of the year 100,000 tons.

The data were released Thursday at the 34th Meeting of Working Group II of the Technical Committee of Sugar of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC ), which takes place in Johannesburg, South Africa.

For the 2018 campaign, Biocom has also produced 11.900 cubic meters of hydrated ethanol.

The company predicted 20.304 cubic meters of hydrated ethanol and 17.617 MW of electric energy.

Angop learnt that Biocom is also integrating the Angolan delegation at the event, going between Thursday and Friday.

According to Deputy General Manager of Biocom, Engineer Luís Bagorro Júnior, the meeting is meant to confirm the statistics of each country, mainly in relation to the production, import and export of sugar and ethanol.
