Mozambican Voices: Timbila Muzimba (Video)

Timbila is not only a heritage of Mozambican music; in 2005, the instrument was designated by UNESCO as Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

One of the people responsible for keeping Timbila alive is the Timbila Muzimba: a traditional Mozambican Popular Music group.

With more than 20 years of career, the mix between music played in traditional ceremonies and popular festivals of Chope communities, the most contemporary rhythms and trends from jazz to dances in Mozambique, the Timbila Muzimba provoke true collective catharsis in their presentations . It is impossible to stand still when more than a dozen musicians unite to promote joy and celebrate Mozambicality.
