Angola’s minister of Agriculture and Forestry Marcos Nhunga has announced the privatisation of the state-owned agro-industrial farms.

The minister announced this Friday in the municipality of Chinguar, central Bié province, during a visit to that locality, as part of the 2018/2019 agricultural campaign.

According to him, a technical team will be set up to deal with the issue, adding that the sector has the terms of references for the launch of a tender that will be submit to the top institutions.

He said that privatisation is intended to recover large investments made by the government.

The project included Sanza-Pombo and Negage farms, in northern Uíge province, Camaiangala (Moxico), Cuimba and N’zeto (Zaire), Camacupa (Bié) and Manquete (Cunene).
