Angola’s Trade minister, Joffre Van – Dúnem Júnior, said on Wednesday in Luena city, eastern Moxico province, that the entrance of the country in the African Free Trade Zone (AFTZ) in 2019 will benefit economically the bordering regions.
The official, who was addressing the opening of the first edition of 2018 Expo Moxico, stated that the intention is to provide a wide range of business opportunities to all Angolan businesspeople, mainly of those of the bordering provinces, which is the case of that region.
However, the official recalled the participants that the government continues to work with all the bordering provinces in order to seize all business opportunities.
Joffre Van mentioned the presence of Zambian and Congolese businesspeople at the event as a way to boost cross-border business.
He also praised the local government, the local and international exhibitors who are displaying their products aiming at creating business opportunities for the development for their companies and bolster the economy of the regions.
Expo – Moxico which is taking place under the motto “Future Today”, is gathering over 80 local exhibitors including Zambian, South African and Brazilian displayers.
