Approximate reading time: 1 minute

Guinea and Cape Verde have signed an agreement for Guineenne de large bande (Guilab) and Cabo Verde Telecom to link the two countries by a submarine fibre cable dubbed Cap Amilcar Cabral, reports Ecofin.

The collaboration is part of a regional integration strategy for the telecommunications sector. The estimated cost of about USD 44 million will be supported by Guilab, Cabo Verde Telecom and the various parties that will join the partnership.  Guinea is expected to benefit from improved international traffic thanks to Cape Verde’s geographical position.
