The Mozambican government wants construction businesses and the Mozambican Order of Engineers to create a benchmark price list for construction contracts, announced the Minister of Public Works and Housing, João Machatine.
According to Machatine, the aim is to reduce the discrepancy of values in the proposals put forward in public tenders.
The intention to create a benchmark price follows an announcement by the Mozambican Council of Ministers on 23 October of the creation of the General Public Works Inspectorate (IGOPE).
IGOPE intends to ensure the promotion of better quality infrastructure and prevent mistakes in the construction projects.
