A cold store worth Euro 1.2 million designed for storage of fish was inaugurated Wednesday in the capital of the northern Uige.
The infrastructure, with capacity to store 400 tonnes of fish, was unveiled by minister of Fisheris and Sea, Maria Antonieta Baptista, to mark the International Workers’ Day, May 1st.
The project is part of investment by the Angolan private firm Crisgunza aimed to restructure the fish trade process in that region of the country.
The inauguration of the infrastructure generates 20 new direct jobs for the northern Uige province’s 16 municipalities.
The minister of Fisheries and Sea has been in Uige province since Tuesday to assess the local sector.
