EU, Cape Verde sign sustainable fishing agreement

The European Union and Cape Verde have agreed on protocol to enforce a new Sustainable Fishing Partnership Agreement (SFPA).

The deal covers a five-year period and allows 69 EU vessels to fish in the African country’s waters.

Cape Verde will receive €750,000 ($835,132) from the European Union, of which 46 percent is specifically for promoting sustainable management of the fisheries in the country.
