The 14th Meeting of Entrepreneurs for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries was positive, the director of the São Tomé and Príncipe Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APCI) said on Thursday in São Tomé.
Rafael Branco also said that the meeting held on 8 and 9 July was part of the government’s strategy and named three key objectives: promotion of São Tomé and Príncipe and its investment opportunities, investment attraction and, finally, raising awareness of the agency and its role among national and foreign investors.
APCI’s director, quoted by the STP-Press news agency, said that the aim to promote the country and investment opportunities had been achieved, “because it was not limited to presenting the archipelago but also the different sector policies.”
Assessing the results of the business meeting, Branco acknowledged and praised the tourism sector which, in his opinion, is the most structured in terms of investment, noting that this is the result of the development of the sector in recent times.
The 14th business meeting between China and Portuguese-speaking countries was jointly organised by the São Tomé and Príncipe Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, and ended with the signing of six agreements and memoranda.
