Cabo Verde Airlines starts flying to Luanda, the capital of Angola, on 9 December, offering two regular flights a week, the Cape Verdean airline said in a statement issued in Praia.

The carrier also said that departures from Sal Island will be on Mondays and Fridays and return trips on Wednesdays and Sundays, with the first flight at 22:35 on 9 December with arrival scheduled for 06:00 local time on 10 December.

Cabo Verde Airlines previously announced the start of flights to Porto Alegre, capital of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.

The first flight to Porto Alegre will take place on 11 December, with the Cape Verdean airline offering two regular flights a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays, returning to Sal Island on Thursdays and Saturdays.

This new route between Porto Alegre and Sal Island is intended to strengthen the link between Cabo Verde and Brazil, as part of the company’s presence in the South American market and its strategy to turn Sal Island into an Atlantic platform.
