The deadline for the submission of bids for the purchase of agro-industrial enterprises under privatisation has been extended until 10 October, the Angolan State Asset Management Institute (Igape) has said.

The announcement on the Igape website said that the extension was intended to give interested parties more time to study the documentation on the assets and, if they wish, to visit the projects.

This call to tender covers four slaughterhouses, three cold stores, three tomato processing plants, one can production plant and six silo complexes.

Igape had already postponed the deadline until 30 September for the submission of proposals for the purchase of Longa (Kwando Kubango), Caimangala (Moxico), Cuimba (Zaire) and Sanza Pombo (Uíge), with the same argument.

These four agro-livestock farms, which have a combined area of 45,000 hectares, have been valued at US$110 million, and Igape has not reported whether any proposals have been received to date.
