Cape Verde has installed fibre at over 300 central and local government institutions, as part of a project to improve access to the state’s internet network and with support by the Chinese government, reports Lusa.
The first phase of the project ended last August and included the installation of new equipment in the Data Center and the supply of 44 infrastructure WebLabs laboratories installed in various schools and health services in all municipalities of the country. It also allowed the connection of fibre in several secondary schools and in some central public institutions.
The second phase of the project started in October, when services were activated and connectivity infrastructures installed. The installation of optical fibre is part of the e-Gov II project.
