The interconnection among different sectors of Angolan fisheries value chain ensures the sustainable development of the economy, said Wednesday the Secretary of State for sector, Carlos Cordeiro.
Cordeiro, who was speaking at the opening of the workshop on fisheries value chain, said that value chain integrates shipbuilding, participatory management, research and training in several areas of intervention.
The fishery product at the discharge points, he explained, includes dockers, women processors, weighing personnel, among other agents, who create jobs at the end of this value chain.
The minister explained that this process also integrates the sectors of Industry, Transport, Commerce, Agriculture, Interior and Defense, among others that produce goods, equipment and services.
As for the results of the Fisheries Value Chain, he said that they (value chains) will allow the public decision-makers and managers of fishing companies to know the costs related to its various stages (sector value chain).
He added that the initiative will guarantee sustainable income growth, through understanding the process that ends in final consumption.
The workshop is part of the Production Support, Export Diversification and Import Replacement Programme (Prodesi).
