UzomaDozie, the former CEO of Diamond Bank, now merged with Access Bank, has officially launched Sparkle in Nigeria. It is a digital banking platform that is licensed by the Central Bank for Nigeria.

UzomaDozie first announced the plans to launch Sparkles in August last year. The digital bank is a convergence of financial, lifestyle, and business support services. It will provide payments, savings, and other multiple financial services for individuals. Sparkles is in partnership with Visa, Microsoft, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria. The partners will provide industry-lead expertise, APIs, cloud computing, data science, machine learning, tax, and financial advisory services to customers.

Users will be able to track their spending patterns and access the details of the breakdown by category. They will have access to Indy, a 24/7 financial customer service chatbot. With Sparkle Stash and SparklePay, users can save towards specific goals and send money without having the account numbers of people, respectively. Other distinct features include the ability to purchase online and in-person and the payment of utility bills using Sparkle physical and virtual cards.

“Sparkle will be transformational for Nigerians across the globe and I am hugely excited to be launching it today. Sparkle is redefining Nigerian commerce by merging financial services with a seamless lifestyle solution,” said UzomaDozie.

“We are removing barriers using technology and data, driving inclusion at scale. In doing so, we are empowering Nigerians to fulfill their potential, democratizing access to valuable solutions for both business and personal needs.”

Sparkles is available for both iOS and Android devices.
