A packaging unit with the capacity to pack 60 tons of products daily started operating last Saturday at the Girassol Farm located in Nzeto municipality, northern Zaire province.
The inauguration of this plant, attended by the provincial governor, Pedro Julia, enables conditions to export from August this year products such as banana and papaya to Europe, with stress to Portugal and France, said the institution’s managing partner, João Amaral.

He explained that for the current agricultural year, Girassol Farm cultivated 238 hectares of land – 140 for banana and 98 of papaya.
The production was secured by 1,237 workers, including 27 foreigners.
