Angola’s National Fuel Society (SONANGOL) has announced plans for the construction of the scientific research and innovation centre by 2021, under restructuring programme of the company.
The approval and implementation of the new macrostructure of the company follows the Presidential Decrees that stipulates the general and strategic bases for the creation of a Research and Technology Center (CIITIP).
In its press release reached Angop, the Oil firm states that the center will identify strategic projects for the company to ensure knowledge development.

The construction of the infrastructure will run from 2021 to 2022 and is expected to house other several institutions such as high education, professional training and business incubators.
The construction is part of a joint initiative by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Petroleum (MIREMPET), National Oil and Gas Agency (ANPG) and multinational operators, such as the Norwegian Equinor
