Construction of Karuma dam in Uganda to complete November

Another African dam project nears completion: the Karuma Hydroelectric Power Station is a 600 MW hydropower station in Uganda under construction. When completed, it will be the largest power-generating installation in the country.

The power station is located at Karuma Falls, on the VictoriaNile, at the former location of the Karuma Falls. This location is approximately 2.5 kilometres upstream of where the Masindi-Gulu Highway crosses the #Nile.

Construction of the 600 MW hydroelectric power dam began in 2013, and is expected to complete end November 2020.

The project is valued at US$1.7B.
