When will we have a Covid-19 vaccine in Zambia?

There is good news for Zambia as 2021 has begun. COVID-19 vaccines are coming.

A ray of light has shown on this country as an assurance has been given by the head of State.

“We are assured that a number of COVID-19 vaccines will be available this year. This means that the darkness and despair of COVID-19 will at long last give way to light of hope. This is good news for our economy”, President Lungu has said.

In his New year message, President Lungu said looking back at 2020, the economy experienced challenges largely as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

He said however, as a result of the multi-sectoral response being implemented and the overwhelming support from all partners, the country managed to mitigate the effects of COVID-19.

“It is for this reason that the international travel organisation ranked Zambia the fourth safest travel destination in the world out of 70 countries with verifiable data on COVID-19.

The head of State however warned Zambians against dropping the guard against COVID-19 to avoid a resurgence of the pandemic.

He also said the country experienced low levels of revenue collection and low generation of electricity and increased food prices.

Fellow Citizens,

Irrespective of your political and religious affiliation. Irrespective of your gender and age. Do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19. Let us remain united and defeat our common enemy.
