Rwanda’s weekly horticulture exports increased by 61%

Agriculture products being shipped out of Rwanda every week have increased both in volume and revenue according to updates released on Monday by the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).

Details show that last week Rwanda exported 366,292Kg of horticulture produce worth US$901,020. Both export quantities and revenues increased by 38.6% and 61% respectively. Countries of destination were DRC, Netherlands, UK, Dubai and Belgium. Others included Germany, France, Uganda and Tanzania.

NAEB said the country also exported 565,691Kg of Tea earning U$1,499,906.

With this performance, according to NAEB, export quantities and revenues increased by 12.4% and 9.8% respectively. They were mainly exported to Pakistan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, and UK.

Coffee shipped out of the country was equivalent to 389,380Kg fetching U$663,891. Compared to previous week, export quantities increased by 13%. Destination countries included China, Germany and South Africa among others.
