Three formidable tech pioneers will share their stories at the next Women in Tech Conversations virtual platform.
The session will be hosted by legal technology company LexisNexis South Africa and information technology provider Dell Technologies.
The panel discussion will feature 4 esteemed women in the tech industry who will each share their story of how and what they chose to challenge in their lives. Speaking of moments in their lives where they chose to stand up and have a voice, they will also share how they are now paying it forward to make it possible for other women to have the same opportunities.
The virtual session will take place to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD 2021) this Monday, March 8, 2021, via Zoom, between 2 pm and 3.15 p.m (Johannesburg time, GMT+2).
Also, the session will draw on the #ChooseToChallenge campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2021.
In honouring women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements, this year’s global theme encourages the international community to counter gender bias.
The IWD 2021 aims to counter injustice by seeking out and celebrating women’s accomplishments. Furthermore, the IWD 2021 theme seeks to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive planet.
Noluvuyo Mpekelana, Kim Palmer, and Pebble Hlubi are three game-changers in the tech industry who will share their perspectives and insights.
Videsha Proothveerajh, CEO and Chairperson of the Board of LexisNexis South Africa, will moderate the discussion.
Also, the session which will also include Mellony Ramalho, LexisNexis South Africa’s Sales and Marketing Director, and Sabine Dedering, Dell Technologies’ Regional Sales Director.
Throughout their careers, these three thought leaders have worked to challenge assumptions in the tech industry and culture.
In addition, these leaders have built businesses that combat bias, and to advocate for a society where women celebrate other women.
Some of the topics will include; the importance of self-love, recruitment of women in tech, university mentorship, creating your own board, and reintegrating women into the workplace.
