Rwanda exported 529,660Kgs of locally produced Tea and fetched a whooping U$1,435,775 as informed by the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) on Monday in its weekly update on agro exports.
The agency said, major buyers of Rwanda tea last week included; Pakistan, Egypt, UK, Sudan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan among others.
“Compared to the previous week, the average price (per Kg) decreased by 0.36%,” NAEB said.
Meanwhile, coffee exports fetched U$488,662 from a consignment of 128,754Kg of Rwanda coffee.
According to NAEB the average price of coffee last week increased from U$2.6/Kg to U$3.7/Kg.
Buyers of this coffee included USA, United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Finland, DRC, South Sudan and Singapore.
Last week, Rwanda also exported 271,329Kg of horticultural produce generating U$889,256.Both quantities and revenues increased by 20.8% and 32.9% respectively compared to the previous week. Main Countries of destination included; Holland, Vietnam, DRC and UK among others.
