The 6th edition of the Global Business Forum Africa (GBF Africa), the must-attend forum for senior government, business, and finance leaders, will take place this year, on October 13-14 at the Expo Dubai 2020, and aims to assess how Africa is responding to current challenges – particularly those presented by Covid-19 and examine the role of innovation, collaboration and, above all, trade-in enabling solutions.
Organised by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Dubai Chamber), the event, whose programme has just been released, will be supported by three main pillars, namely:
- RESET – to explore policy and regulatory reforms and assess the economic implications of the pandemic for the region. How can the continent’s countries work together to deliver on the promise of the AfCFTA and enable sustainable growth?
- RESTORE – looking at the models for innovative, sustainable trade and technology that can reconfigure the continent’s businesses, trade corridors and supply chains.
- RENEW – assessing shifts in culture and values as a result of the pandemic, RENEW will focus on the resilience of the continent’s emerging businesses, the challenges for its workforce and the role of government in providing an enabling infrastructure for business.

After a one-year hiatus, due to the coronavirus pandemic canceling nearly all presential events worldwide, GBF Africa stands ready to build on its reputation as one of the key Africa-related events in the calendar.
Just like on its past editions, FurtherAfrica will support the event as a media partner with a strong presence at the Expo Dubai 2020’s floor for this year’s event; the 2019 event was attended by over 2,500 delegates from 76 countries.
Abdulla Momade, Dubai Chamber’s representative for Southern Africa, said:
“We are very excited to once again welcome the African community and discuss the opportunities available in the prevailing economic environment and evaluate the key strategic directives related to Africa’s economic outlook.”
