Angolan economy may grow 2.4% in 2022

The Angolan Government estimates that the national economy might increase up to 2.4% this year due to the plans of the recovery of the economic activity with an growth of the oil sector in 1.6% and non-oil in 3.1%.

However, in a report on the Global Economic Perspectives, the World Bank foresees an economic increase around 3.1% to Angola in 2022 comparing to the 0.4% of the last year.

The State Secretary for Planning, Milton Reis who was speaking in the usual brief of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) explained that the planning of the economy activity resumption is due to the increase of the of the oil production that should reach a daily average of 1.148 million barrels of oil.

The official pointed out as well as another cause the sector of the diamonds that has an growth estimate of 10% corresponding to a production of 10,055,000 (Ten million fifty-five thousand) carats.

The Government official indicated that the non-oil sectors should have a positive evolution, with emphasis on agriculture with 4.3%, fisheries 4% and industry 4.5%.
