Netflix, the international video streaming provider, has pledged $1 million to the Netflix Creative Equity Scholarship Fund (CESF), which will support film and television students in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The global Netflix Creative Equity Fund, which was introduced in 2021, includes this scholarship fund. Over the next five years, it will be utilized to fund a variety of projects with the goal of building a broad and powerful pipeline of creatives all over the world.

The Netflix CESF will be available in the region starting in the 2022 academic year.

An open call will be made in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, with help from a fund management advisory firm and a fund administrator/implementation partner in Southern Africa.

During the 2022 academic calendar year, the scholarship fund will pay for tuition, housing, and study materials at institutions where the beneficiaries have been accepted to study TV & Film disciplines.
