Ethiopian Airlines announced that effective February 15 it has started direct flights from Addis Ababa to Japan’s capital Tokyo.
Ethiopian is operating 2 direct flights a week into Narita airport using their own Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. The company also offers weekly flights to Tokyo’s Haneda airport via their direct flight to Bangkok followed by a connection operated by their Star Alliance partner ANA – All Nippon Airlines.

The announcement comes at a time when Japan is beginning to give the first clear signs that it will start to reopen the country to foreign travelers. With an impressive 127 destinations in operation, the announcement instantly made Ethiopian Airlines the most convenient option for those traveling from Africa to Japan.
