The Government of Mozambique and CTA (the country’s confederation of business association) have announced the XVII edition of the Private Sector Annual Conference, scheduled to take place from March 30th to April 1st in a hybrid format, with international being able to attend sessions online.

Under the theme: “Reforming the business environment for economic recovery”, the event will comprise 3 main pillars: The Promotion of a Public-Private Dialogue, The Mozambique Investment Summit, and a Marketplace.

As for the promotion of Public-Private dialogue, the event will be a platform for an open conversation between the Government and the business Sector entitled “Public-Private Dialogue” (PPD). The aim is to assess the factors contributing to past successes and failures as well as present and evaluate actions and solutions to improve the business environment.

On the other hand, the Mozambican Investment Forum intends to highlight necessary actions to accelerate business growth and the national economy, including those that can be implemented by other stakeholders, both in terms of economic policies, investment
promotion, as well as in the management of the benefits generated by the relevant projects. The Forum will also be dedicated to reflecting on a set of reforms needed for economic recovery in the context of the “new normal”, with a focus on the digitization of business processes, access to finance, promotion of the agribusiness value chain, and others considered important for improving the business environment in light of the current situation.

For its turn, the Marketplace will be a platform for entrepreneurs and promoters to present projects and investment opportunities, countrywide, identified by CTA in coordination with provincial Business Delegations and Governments. The Market Place will take place through meetings and roundtables with the goal of strengthening and diversifying the base of sponsors, investors, and businesses through the mobilization of investment and the creation of new partnerships.
