The Foreign Affairs ministers of Angola and Japan Saturday discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, with focus on the conclusion of pending legal instruments and the creation of a Joint Bilateral Commission.
In a virtual meeting, the Angolan minister Téte António and his Japanese counterpart Yoshimasa Hayashi highlighted, among the pending issues, Japan’s funding for demining, visa facilitation agreements and the computerisation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Liberalisation of investment and intervention in the fields of health and agriculture, are among the instruments to be concluded.
The ministers also addressed international current affairs, with emphasis on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Téte António underlining Angola’s call for dialogue and peace between the two countries, taking into account its hard experience of more than 27 years of war.
On the other hand, he asked for the help of the international community to resolve conflicts in Africa.
The minister welcomed the Extraordinary Summit on Combating Terrorism and Unconstitutional Regime Changes in Africa, to be held in May of this year, in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
The event follows the proposal forwarded by Angola and the consent of the African Union.
