The 2021/2022 season is currently on a long break and it’s time for the legends to unwind. And 2022 is a special year as the number of international footballers vacationing in Africa is huge.

Every corner of Africa is hosting a renowned footballer on the international scene. Here’s the thing about Africa; there is everything you need to make memories of your vacation.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) stars Ander Herrera and Mauro Icardi kicked off their African vacation in style. Icardi started his vacation together with his wife Wanda Nara to Rwanda then Kenya.

Herrera followed him a week later to Tanzania together with his wife Isabel Herrera. But, there are more international footballers vacationing in Africa. Here they are.

Paul Pogba

As the France international arrived in Conakry, he got a hero’s welcome on his way to visit his parents’ hometown.

Kylian Mbappe

The PSG star chose Red City in Marrakech, Morocco for his summer holiday. He was together with Achraf Hakimi, another PSG player.

Jose Mourinho

The Portuguese manager was on a weeklong break in Namibia. He gracefully arrived at Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek, Namibia and proceeded to his vacation destination.

Namibia is a fantastic holiday destination and Mourinho led the pack of international footballers vacationing in Africa.

Ousmane Dembele

The Barcelona star flew to Morocco for his summer vacation. Dembele shares special history with this North African country. His wife, Rima Edbouche is Moroccan.

The French international had a Moroccan wedding last year. Edbouch is from a Berber family that hails from Douar Aghbalou, located close to Guelmim in the southwest of Morocco.

Edbouch grew up in France, where she is currently continuing her university studies at. She was born in Castelfranco Veneto, Italy. She is a TikTok star.

Inaki Williams and his younger brother Nico Williams, Spainish twins, are making the most of their time off while on vacation in Ghana. The two Athletic Bilbao players arrived in Ghana and wasted no time getting reacquainted with their families and friends in the West African country.

During the short time they spent on holiday in Ghana, the Williams brothers exchanged memorable moments with members of the local community. They received blessings from their grandfather according to images they shared on Twitter.

Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz, a player for Chelsea, is currently vacationing at the Royal Malewane Lodge in Kruger National Park, in the South African country of South Africa.

Using the story feature on Instagram, Havertz posted a number of photographs with the words “Kruger National Park” superimposed over the images.

He is among international footballers vacationing in Africa.

Ander Herrera

Spanish footballer signed with French Ligue-1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Ander Herrera couldn’t resist the charm of taking a holiday in Tanzania. He travelled together with his wife Isabel Collado.

The PSG midfielder flew to Tanzania marking this as his first holiday in Africa. Ibrahima Konate and Stefan de Vrij are also spending their holidays in Tanzania.

Samuel Umtiti

Following the conclusion of the 2021-22 season, French defender Samuel Umtiti headed back to Cameroon for some charity projects.

Umtiti now at Barcelona was born in Cameroon before his parents moved to France when he was eight years old.

Mauro Icardi

The Argentine adds to the list of celebrities who visited Kenya’s magical destinations. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, Barrack Obama, and American singer Ashanti are among celebrities who toured Kenya’s breathtaking destinations.

Sergio Ramos

Sergio Ramos led PSG trio of Keylor Navas, Thilo Kehrer and Julian Draxler on a vacation in Rwanda.

They visited different various places among them the famous Volcanoes National Park known for gorilla trekking escapades.
