The Uxene Smart City project was launched last week in the Jaoaquim Chissano Conference Centre, in Maputo city.

This housing development will provide Mozambicans with a safe, modern environment and lifestyle, and is the first intelligent and ecological project in the country.

Developed by the company Memba Imobiliária, Uxene Smart City is situated in Marracuene district, Maputo province, on land belonging to Milhulamete, Lda.

When implemented, the project will, over an estimated 15 years, have considerable social impact with the creation of 6,500 direct and more than 20,000 indirect jobs, as well as the installation of various social and economic infrastructures, and will generate tax revenues valued at around US$150 million.

About Uxene Smart City

Uxene Smart City is the largest integrated mixed-use master development in Mozambique. Encompassing over 500 hectares, the project follows fundamental ecological and smart-city principles and architecture design, and offers a wide variety of amenities for residents.

Situated on Maputo’s ring road, Uxene Smart City will offer a full spectrum lifestyle like no other in the country, with infrastructured stands, free-stand homes, residential clusters and apartments buildings with options for everyone.

The mixed-use development also encompasses a logistics park and a CBD with an administrative area, including public institutions, commercial office park and malls. The Smart City will be protected with state-of-the-art smart security systems and boast all the latest ICT-enabled solutions.
