The British High Commissioner to Mozambique, Helen Lewis, yesterday hosted a roundtable discussion with the UK strategic business group and with the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Her Excellency Carla Louveira. At the event, it was announced the UK-Mozambique Business Forum for the first quarter of 2023.
The Strategic Business Group is a quarterly gathering with key UK-affiliated businesses operating in the energy, mining, agriculture, telecoms, and infrastructure industries. These companies combined represent more than 500,000 jobs and are amongst the largest taxpayers. The round table revolved around the latest developments on Mozambique’s Economic Accerelation Package (PAE) announced last August and the impact of its implementation on British companies operating in the country.
