Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage and diverse landscape make it an exciting destination for tourists. This southern African country is a sight to behold, from Victoria Falls to the famous Hwange National Park. But is Zimbabwe expensive to travel?

Victoria Falls is one of the world’s most spectacular waterfalls, located on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Visitors can take a helicopter ride over the falls, go white-water rafting in the Zambezi River, or take a sunset cruise on the river.
Hwange National Park: one of the largest national parks in Zimbabwe, home to a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, and a wide variety of bird species.
Matobo Hills: a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its granite formations and rich cultural history. Visitors can explore the hills on foot, take guided tours to see rock art and learn about the area’s natural and cultural heritage.
Great Zimbabwe: an ancient city that was once the capital of the Kingdom of Zimbabwe, visitors can explore the ruins of the city and learn about the history and culture of the Shona people.
Bulawayo: the second-largest city in Zimbabwe and known for its Victorian architecture and beautiful gardens, it is also a good place to learn about the country’s history and culture.

Are Things Expensive In Zimbabwe?

Zimbabwe faced an economic crisis for many years resulting in high inflation, currency fluctuations, and shortages of goods. This means that prices for some goods and services may be higher which is why many people wonder; is Zimbabwe expensive to travel?

It’s worth noting that the prices for goods and services in Zimbabwe can vary significantly depending on the specific location and the time of year. Accommodation, for example, is relatively affordable in rural areas and less touristy towns. Prices for budget hotels and guesthouses start around $20 – $40 per night, while more upscale lodges and resorts can cost $100 or more per night.

Food is relatively cheap, although the availability of certain goods can be limited. Local markets and street vendors often offer the most affordable prices. Transportation costs is also affordable, with local buses and minibuses being the most economical option. Car rental is a little bit pricey, but still affordable, starting around $50 per day.
