Ethiopian Airlines last week said it has concluded preparations to resume direct services to Singapore later this month.

The flight services have been suspended due to the COVID pandemics since March 2020.

The airline will resume the service from Addis Ababa International Airport to Singapore Changi Airport as of March 25, 2023.

The flights to Singapore, one of the major financial hubs in the world, will be operated four times a week with the ultramodern B787 Dreamliner.

Ethiopian announced its plan to resume the direct flight in December, 2022, saying flight would further expand its network in Asia and create air connectivity for passengers traveling between Africa and Singapore.

The plan is in line with “our plan for growing our network around the world”, said Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew.

Ethiopian, he said, will keep on opening new routes to enhance connectivity between Africa and the rest of the world via Addis Ababa.

On Thursday, Airlines announced its plan to resume direct flights to Karachi, Pakistan, as of 01 May 2023, after nearly two decade long interruption. Karachi will be the 37th destination of the Airlines in Asia.
