As Mozambique and Brazil cooperate in air safety, an exchange of knowledge and experiences between institutions from both countries will take place, in the areas of operational safety and management, taking into account the excellence of Brazilian civil aviation.

Last week, a team of representatives from the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) and the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) were in Maputo in a mission to meet with its counterpart, the Mozambican Civil Aviation Institute (IACM), in order to establish this cooperation initiative that could provide Mozambique with greater technical capacity with a view to facing the challenges related to air safety, as well as compliance with the recommendations and conventions of international organizations that regulate this matter.

At the end of the meeting, Mozambique Minister of Transport and Communications, Mateus Magala and the Ambassador of Brazil, Ademar Seabra agreed to continue the actions underway for the implementation of this initiative that will complement the ongoing reforms in the restructuring of Mozambican Civil Aviation.

As Mozambique and Brazil cooperate in air safety, it marks a continuity of the Brazilians long-time strategic partner position in the development of Mozambican civil aviation and has already implemented several partnerships, with emphasis on the acquisition of Embraer aircraft, technical assistance, and training, among other areas of cooperation.

Mozambique and Brazil to cooperate in air safety
Ambassador of Brazil to Mozambique, Ademar Seabra, met with Mozambique’s Minister of Transport and Communications, Mateus Magala, as part of the preparation of a cooperation program to strengthen the Civil Aviation Authority of Mozambique

Under measure 11 of Mozambique’s economic stimulus package (PAE), launched by Presidente Niusy on August last year, which aims to improve the competitiveness of national airports and logistic corridors, Minister Magala has been presenting several positive developments on rail and road access to the country, and as Mozambique and Brazil cooperate in air safety more developments are expected in the near future.
