The value of exports from Mozambique grew 58% last year, spokesman Filimão Suaze announced the end of the 12th Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers in Maputo last week.
“We have to share that, in terms of exports, the country registered an increase of 58%, rising from US$5.184 billion (in 2021) to US$8.199 billion (in 2022),” said Suaze, who is also Deputy Minister of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs.

Suaze explained that the accomplishment was due to the continuous and consistent growth of agricultural production, which accounts for more than 10% of exports, but also due to the preferential agreements currently in force.
