Ethiopian Airlines has taken delivery of its 20th Airbus A350-900 aircraft from the European planemaker.
The airlines announced the delivery today after the aircraft touched down at Addis Ababa powered by Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

“The delivery flight used 30% blend Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) thus reducing its carbon footprint,” the airlines said.
The latest delivery of the aircraft – which carried 10 tonnes of humanitarian shipment into Ethiopia – is a part of the airline’s A350-900s on order.
Ethiopian already upsized four of the aircraft type on order to the “largest version and technologically advanced passenger aircraft” of the a350 family – a350-1000.
“The upsizing will be instrumental in satisfying the increasing demand of customers in our vast global network,” its CEO Mesfin Tasew said, announcing the upsizing in July.
The national flag carrier became the first African carrier to operate the A350 when it took delivery of the first aircraft in 2017.
The latest delivery increases the number of the A350-900 fleet Ethiopian operates across its flight network to 20.

Currently, Ethiopian serves more than 150 domestic and international passenger and cargo destinations across five continents.
