Angola and Namibia assess bilateral cooperation

Angola Foreign Affairs Minister Teté António and Namibia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah assessed last week cooperation issues between the two Southern African Development Community (SADC) member countries.

During the courtesy meeting held on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the SADC Troika plus Force Intervention Brigade (FIB) Troop Contributing Countries, the two top diplomats reviewed bilateral and multilateral cooperation in various domains.

The meeting also assessed Namibia’s leadership at the helm of the SADC, since Angola will take over the presidency in August, ANGOP has learnt from a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Namibia is hosting on May 8, the Southern African Development Community Extraordinary Organ Troika Summit (EO-OTS) , SADC Troika Plus Force Intervention Brigade (FIB) Troop Contributing Countries.

Angola and Namibia have good relations of friendship, solidarity, political, diplomatic and cultural. Both share a vast common border.

The two states have co-operation agreements in several areas such as defence and security, industry, trade, energy and water, fisheries, tourism and transport, including a visa waiver agreement.
