In 2020, Napoli recognized Osimhen’s exceptional talent and made him their club-record signing at €70 million. However, his time with Napoli had its share of challenges, including injuries and a battle with COVID-19.

Still when the 2022-23 season came about, it marked a breakthrough for Osimhen at Napoli. He played a pivotal role in securing Napoli’s Serie A title, ending a 33-year wait. Osimhen not only became the highest-scoring African in Serie A but also broke records for goals in a single Italian championship season.

Osimhen’s European voyage took a significant turn on October 12, 2022, as he notched his first Champions League goal for Napoli against Ajax. This pivotal goal secured Napoli’s passage to the knockout stage, a watershed moment for the club.

A mere two weeks later, Osimhen was in scintillating form, recording his first Serie A hat-trick in a comprehensive 4–0 victory over Sassuolo. His clinical finishing left fans and pundits awestruck.

The new year ushered in fresh accolades for Osimhen. On January 13, 2023, he displayed his prowess by scoring two goals and contributing an assist in Napoli’s historic 5–1 victory over Juventus.

On February 17, 2023, Osimhen reached an illustrious milestone in his career, netting his 100th goal in Serie A. This goal was a linchpin in Napoli’s 2–0 conquest of Sassuolo. What’s more, he became the first player in Napoli’s history during the three-point era to score in seven consecutive league games.

Osimhen’s Champions League journey continued to sparkle as he scored three goals across two legs against Eintracht Frankfurt, culminating in a 5–0 aggregate triumph. This achievement secured Napoli’s inaugural qualification to the quarter-finals, a testament to Osimhen’s continental prowess.
