In association with the Mozambican high commission in Rome, Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo organized last week a pivotal Business Forum uniting Italian and Mozambican delegates in Milan.

The gathering, held in collaboration with Mozambique’s Agency for the Promotion of Investment and Exports (APIEX), Mozambique Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA) and Eurocam-Mozambique, brought together key influential representatives from both nations.

Mozambique Minister of Economy and Finance, Max Tonela, underscored the forum’s role in highlighting the untapped potential within the Mozambican economy, stressing the mutual gains that could arise from fully exploring investment opportunities.

Minister Tonela expressed optimism following the substantial interest expressed during the panel discussions and articulated hopes for tangible outcomes in the near future.

Mario Bello, ENI’s Head of the Sub-Saharan Africa Region, underlined Mozambique’s burgeoning role in international energy markets. He accentuated Eni’s leading position in the transformation process, marking the nation as a significant player in the global energy landscape.

Massimo Dal Checco, President of Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, stressed the forum’s importance in accelerating trade and investment opportunities. The forum aimed to uncover untapped potential in Mozambique’s economy, emphasizing mutual gains from exploring investment opportunities. Insights were shared by key government officials, Italian financial institutions, and ENI, underscoring Mozambique’s evolving role in global energy markets.

Building on recent diplomatic visits to Mozambique by Italian leaders, this forum sets the stage for the EU-Mozambique Investment Forum in November.

Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo signed MoUs with APIEX and Eurocam-Mozambique, enhancing collaboration between Italian and Mozambican enterprises.

The participation of Italian industrial giants and SMEs highlights the commitment to fostering lasting economic ties. The Business Forum served as a cornerstone for bolstering bilateral economic relationships, unlocking a new era of collaborative opportunities.
