Access Bank has completed its acquisition of African Banking Corporation (BancABC) Tanzania, fully meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. Following this acquisition, the bank will operate under the name Access Bank Tanzania Limited, significantly expanding Access Bank’s footprint in East Africa. This move strengthens the bank’s strategy of growth within the region and builds on its previous acquisition of Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania’s consumer, private, and business banking operations.
Access Bank Tanzania will leverage its parent company’s robust resources to offer a wide range of financial solutions, enhancing Tanzania’s economic landscape. According to Seyi Kumapayi, Executive Director for African Subsidiaries at Access Bank, this acquisition reinforces the bank’s commitment to supporting Tanzania’s economic development and integrating the East African region into its broader expansion strategy.
