The 3rd G25 African Coffee Summit will take place on 21–22 February 2025 at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Under the theme “Unlocking Employment Opportunities for the Youth through the Regeneration of the African Coffee Industry,” the summit will focus on job creation for youth and women by revitalising Africa’s coffee sector through increased production, consumption, and value addition.
Hosted by H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania, the event will bring together African Heads of State, government ministers, coffee regulators, private sector leaders, and financial institutions to discuss policies and investments that will boost Africa’s coffee industry.
The G25 Summit’s Role in Strengthening Africa’s Coffee Sector
The G25 African Coffee Summit was established following the 61st Annual General Assembly of the Inter-African Coffee Organisation (IACO) in 2021, with a mission to enhance Africa’s competitiveness in the global coffee trade.

The first summit (Nairobi, 2022) resulted in the Nairobi Declaration, urging the African Union (AU) to integrate coffee into Agenda 2063. The second summit (Kampala, 2023) produced the Kampala Declaration, calling for IACO’s designation as a specialised AU agency. This milestone was achieved when the AU officially recognised coffee as a strategic anchor commodity in February 2024.
