Kigali is set to become East Africa’s commercial epicentre as it hosts the Kenya-Rwanda Trade Week 2025 from June 25 to 27.

This landmark event aims to strengthen bilateral ties, drive investment, and catalyse new partnerships between two of the region’s most dynamic economies.

The three-day forum will bring together a wide range of participants — from policymakers and investors to entrepreneurs and business leaders — for intensive B2B meetings, panel discussions, and investment forums. The agenda reflects the growing ambition of Kenya and Rwanda to position themselves as leading players in the East African economic landscape.

Both countries have demonstrated strong economic growth in recent years, with Kenya solidifying its status as a regional financial hub, while Rwanda has emerged as a rising star in technology, services, and green investment. The Kenya-Rwanda Trade Week provides a platform to deepen cooperation in critical sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics, fintech, and cross-border trade facilitation.

As East Africa seeks greater regional integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), events like this play a pivotal role in unlocking the full potential of intra-African commerce. By fostering partnerships and addressing regulatory barriers, Kenya and Rwanda aim to create a more seamless trading environment that benefits businesses and communities on both sides.

Beyond business, the Trade Week will also focus on policy alignment, infrastructure development, and regional supply chain resilience — all crucial for building long-term competitiveness in global markets.

With strong participation expected from government ministries, private sector leaders, and development agencies, the Kenya-Rwanda Trade Week 2025 represents a bold step towards building the next East African economic frontier.
