Metassebia Hailu Zeleke is a legal practitioner and the Managing Partner of Metassebia Law Group LLP [MLG]. He is from Law, African Studies, and Public Policy background. In addition to his leadership role at MLG, Metassebia holds several prominent positions within the legal community in Ethiopia. He currently serves as the Chairperson of Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR), demonstrating his commitment to promoting and upholding human rights within the country. Previously, he served as the Vice President of the Ethiopian Lawyers Association, where his role as the Editorial Board Chairman of the esteemed peer-reviewed "Ethiopian Bar Review" Journal remained intact. Metassebia's involvement extends to various management boards including but not limited to the Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics, where he contributes his strategic insights and legal expertise. Internationally, he is serving as a Research Fellow to the China-Africa Legal Research Center and a Consultant to the China Center for Legal Diplomacy. He has also different international recognitions including appointment of “Ambassador for Peace” by the Universal Peace Federation (2011), recipient of a fellowship program at the Law School of Beijing Foreign Studies University (Beijing, 2014), recipient of the China-Africa Lawyers Exchange Program (Beijing, 2014) and recipient of the Young International Lawyers Program by International Bar Association (Tokyo, 2014).
